Alpina, a manufacturer included in BMW, has produced a special version of the B3 model, the 50 Years of BMW South Africa Edition, dedicated to the 50 years of the German brand’s presence on the South African market. The run of just five cars will feature the iconic Alpina Green II body color, with each car receiving 20-inch Alpina multi-spoke wheels, as well as Alpina lettering on the front spoiler and retro-style side decals as a nod to the 1980s.
In the cabin, Alpina inscriptions can be seen on the thresholds, but a special plate in the center console will always remind you of the name of the exclusive version and the serial number of the specific copy. The package also includes a combination of white and green stitching for decoration, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with the Alpina logo, leather seats with an embroidered logo.
The special model is developed on the basis of the modernized B3, which was launched in 2022. In the engine compartment of such a sedan, there is a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder biturbo unit with a power of 495 hp and a torque of 730 Nm, which is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Running up to a hundred takes 3.6 seconds, the maximum speed is 305 km/h.
The car’s arsenal includes a sports suspension with adjustable shock absorbers, an improved braking system with more efficient cooling, the imagination of driving modes with Comfort+, Comfort, Sport und Sport+ settings, an exhaust system with four round outlets.
