According to the police, at about 18:00 on Wednesday, the police duty station received a report that on the N-31 highway an unknown man in a balaclava jumped onto the road and fired several shots. According to preliminary information, the man fired from a machine gun with a silencer at a car. As a result of his injuries, the driver died on the spot.
To establish all the circumstances of the crime, the police leadership and the investigative team went to the scene. All police services are involved in the search for the suspect.
“A special police operation has been launched in the region to search for and detain the criminal,” the statement says.

According to the police, the killed driver is 49 years old. On the fact of the premeditated murder of the driver, investigators opened criminal proceedings under clause 6 of part 2 of art. 115 of the Criminal Code.

Shooting in the center of Prague
On December 21, a man started shooting at a university in the center of Prague. At first it was reported that there were 10 victims, but later in the evening local law enforcement clarified that the shooter killed at least 15 people and injured at least 24 people.
