The first cell phones were marketed in France in the 1990s, but it was the launch of the iPhone in 2007 that really changed our habits and transformed our daily lives. Mobile uses have thus irremediably changed the way we communicate, obtain information, travel, consume, work, etc.
The mobile revolution also applies to marketing practices: companies that do not adapt to this revolution lose many opportunities for growth and development. These changes in consumers’ daily lives are making traditional marketing approaches obsolete.and force advertisers to rethink their offers, content, services, messages, etc. to better meet the needs and expectations of consumers.
What are mobile uses?
Mobile uses refer to the use of dedicated terminals (e.g. smartphones, tablets, etc.) to access the internet using mobile applications.
The advent of smartphones has had a major impact on the daily lives of billions of people and enabled the emergence of new dominant economic players: platforms (e.g. Uber, Deliveroo, etc.). This reconfiguration of market dynamics pushes brands and distributors to rethink their digital ecosystem to better adapt to new consumer behaviors.
Mobile marketing practices are now perfectly assimilated by advertisers (geographic targeting, personalized ephemeral offers, micro-content, etc.) who are already looking for new growth levers, the “Next big thing”.
