Tegucigalpa, Honduras.- Lawyer Leonel Núñez, legal representative of kidney patients, stated that the minister of the Ministry of Health (Regret) José Manuel Matheu, “has one foot in jail” for disobeying a court order.
Núñez stated that the crime consists of acting indifferently towards kidney patients and disobeying a court order from the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ). This would implicate him in a crime of abuse of authority, according to the officer.
The above, for having terminated the agreement between the State and the Dialisis de Honduras company unilaterally. Instead, the company Nefrocentro was awarded the care of kidney patients.

“No one is above the Ley, you must respect the law and court orders. The Minister of Health has seemed quite hostile towards kidney patients,” highlighted the legal professional.
In that sense, Núñez hopes that the current interim attorney general Johel Zelaya will be objective and proceed with what the law establishes for judicial disobedience against Matheu.
They ask for investigation from a new company
The president of the Association of Kidney Patients in El Progreso, Yoro, Yina Flores, indicated that the CSJ ruled in favor of hemodialysis patients so that the company Nefrocentro, which has provided the service since December 15 of this year, be investigated. .
For his part, Minister Matheu has stated that a bidding and that patients would not be left without their treatment.
