Details: Thirteen of them went in two groups, the remaining three went one at a time. As the press service of the State Border Guard Service clarified to Ukrainskaya Pravda, this is a significant number for the section of one border detachment (Chopsky), since over the past 3 months there have been from 2 to 5 people who tried to illegally cross the border per day.

It contained eight men of military age who turned out to be residents of Transcarpathia. Border guards established that the driver of the car agreed for a monetary reward to deliver his fellow villagers to the border and facilitate their transportation to the territory of Slovakia. During his arrest, he tried to escape, but the military stopped him.

Another group, which included four Transcarpathians, was stopped at the area of responsibility of the Palad Komarovtsy branch. It was also possible to detain the violators thanks to advanced information from operatives. Additional squads were sent to the area they indicated and found a group of men a few hundred meters from the state border.

Three more offenders were detained during inspection activities by border patrols in the area of responsibility of the Uzhgorod and Novoselitsa departments. One person admitted his intention to reach Slovakia outside the checkpoints, two others were in the border area without identification documents.

The men who tried to illegally cross the border were detained administratively. They were brought to administrative responsibility for attempting to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine.

In the actions of the ferryman they see signs of a criminal offense under Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine.” A corresponding message was sent to the Uzhgorod regional department of the National Police.
