FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — In the aftermath of the attack on a private campus on Jalan Perintis Independen, Tamalanrea subdistrict, Makassar City, at least 16 students were named as suspects.
As told by Makassar Police Chief Commissioner Mokhamad Ngajib, the attack occurred on Monday (25/12/2023) at around 02.30 WITA.
“This incident has been reported that there was damage and there were also injured victims,” said Ngajib when holding an exposure at the Makassar Police Headquarters, Wednesday (27/12/2023).
After receiving the report, Ngajib emphasized that his party immediately carried out an investigation on the campus.
“We will immediately carry out follow-up, we will carry out the investigation process and process the crime scene,” he continued.
Apart from that, he said, his party also collected several statements from witnesses who knew about the incident.
“Then we examined the witnesses and we arrested several perpetrators,” he said.
From the results of the investigation, it was found that 11 people were suspected of carrying out the attacks and beatings.
“We were able to find 11 people who were suspected of being the perpetrators of the beatings with losses in the form of goods and injuries to the victims,” Ngajib said.
He added that as the investigation process progressed, the number of suspected perpetrators increased by five to 16.
“There were five people who were proven to have used sharp weapons, including machetes, badiks and bows,” he said.
Previously it was reported that a private campus on Jl Perintis Independen, Tamalanrea District, Makassar, was the target of an attack by an unknown person (OTK).
