FC Barcelona is negotiating with Robert Lewandowski about a salary sacrifice, Sport reports. The ailing Catalan superpower still has to cut wages to comply with Financial Fair Play rules. Agent Pino Zahavi has reassured Barcelona club management amid all the rumors about a possible departure.
At Barcelona they are aware of the fact that there are several clubs from Saudi Arabia that would like to take over Lewandowski. The Pole has the opportunity to at least double his salary in the Middle East, but does not seem ready yet in Barcelona.

Zahavi, a good friend of President Joan Laporta, was in Barcelona a few days ago to negotiate the salary sacrifice and immediately made it clear that there was no question of either a winter or a summer departure.
Lewandowski has a contract until mid-2026 with the option of an extra year. It was expected that the striker would earn the highest salary next season, but due to problems with the salary ceiling of 270 million euros, money is now being withheld.
The construction is designed in such a way that Lewandowski’s salary increases. In his first season he earns ten million euros, in the second season thirteen and in the 2024/25 season his salary will be sixteen million. In the final year of the contract, the salary must be reduced again to ten million.
According to information from Sport, Barcelona are optimistic about the chances of success in terms of the wage sacrifice. Zahavi’s commitment means that they are currently not worried about an early break in the Catalan capital.
Lewandowski had a dream year last year and scored 33 goals and 8 assists in 46 games in the Barcelona shirt. This season his goal production has slowed somewhat (9 goals in 21 games), but there is no doubt about his impact.
