Santa Cruz Health Authorities Report 139 New Covid-19 Cases, Urge Vaccinations and Precautions

The Santa Cruz health authorities reported 139 new positive cases registered in the last week and ask the population to go to the vaccination points.

Santa Cruz increases the number of deaths from Covid-19 to three people due to complications of the disease in recent days. The last victim is a 52-year-old person who had an underlying illness.

“We have had the death of three people, we had reported until Friday about two deceased people; “One person over 52 years old, male, with underlying pathology has died,” reported Julio César Koca, director of the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters) of Santa Cruz.

He pointed out that in the last week 139 positive cases were reported, an increase in cases that was “expected” and for which they ask the population to go to the vaccination points preventively.

“We have vaccines available in all health centers, vaccines have arrived for those over 12 years of age and up, for those people who received the vaccine previously the current scheme is a single vaccine per year, it is a booster; The novelty is that we have the vaccine among children between 5 and 11 years old,” Koca added.

Koca indicated that there are 7 patients hospitalized with Covid-19, who are recovering favorably, and that they must remain under surveillance.

They ask the population to take biosafety measures during year-end activities and go for diagnostic tests in cases of suspicion of contagion.
