Space Sciences Research Program for University Students Launched in Dubai for 2024

Dubai United Arab Emirates, The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center announced today the launch of the Space Sciences Research Program for University Students for the year 2024, which aims to form a new generation of Emirati experts in the field of space sciences. The program is expected to launch in the summer of 2024, and extend for a period of up to 10 weeks. The program targets Emirati undergraduate students who will graduate from fall 2024 onwards in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The program is an exciting research experience that will be conducted in cooperation with leading experts in the field of space science.

Program overview

The Undergraduate Space Science Research Program, which will be held at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, is designed to support undergraduate students majoring in fields such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, etc., who plan to graduate no later than fall 2024. The program facilitates research in diverse fields such as Earth sciences, human health in space, protein crystallography in space, and engineering, under the supervision of experienced mentors, whether through virtual interaction or in-person sessions.

Students will participate in a boot camp before starting their research work, which is designed to familiarize them with the topics and team of the program, along with trainers who will supervise their mentoring.

Program Goals

The Space Science Research Program aims to integrate students into the framework of the National Space Program in the UAE, develop their professional skills, enhance communication and cooperation among them, and stimulate their interest in space science. The program provides distinguished students with the opportunity to continuously cooperate with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, and also provides distinguished researchers with the opportunity to present their research that may contribute to enriching their research path at the university. In addition, the program can be a vital starting point for students who aspire to pursue postgraduate studies in the fields of science or engineering.
