Milagros Tadeo/León, Gto.- The Secretary of Health, Daniel Alberto Díaz Martínez, recommended that Guanajuato residents verify the expiration of the Abdala vaccine before it is administered in the medical units of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
He pointed out that, although some batches of said COVID-19 vaccine have been renewed, there are some that are expired and their administration could cause adverse reactions in the people to whom it is administered.
“If it has a current expiration date, yes, otherwise no, and they must verify that they have a current expiration date to avoid any ESAVI, which is any Event Supposedly Attributable to Vaccination or Immunization (ESAVI),” he highlighted.
He asked the population to maintain hygiene measures and go to health units in the presence of symptoms related to the coronavirus, to receive timely medical attention and avoid complications that could endanger people’s lives.
Last Monday, the IMSS Guanajuato reported on the start of the vaccination process, which aims to administer 69,830 doses of Abdala vaccine in people with risk factors or who have not received any dose to protect against COVID-19.
