Donation to the Oncology Clinic of PGNI from Kafeemporiki

A priority order system, which will make the management of patients and the work of medical and nursing staff easier, will soon be installed in the outpatient clinics of the Oncology Clinic of the University General Hospital of Ioannina, thanks to a significant donation from the Kafeemporiki company.

Part of the proceeds, collected from the sale of take away glasses in October, was allocated to the purchase of a 40-seat priority queue system, which was a necessity for outpatient clinics, in order to discreetly and confidentially call patients, who suffering from cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. At the same time, other medical equipment was also purchased.

The delivery of the system and other equipment was made on Thursday 12/21/23 by the owner of the Kafeemporiki company, to the head of the department of the oncology clinic of the University Hospital of Ioannina, Mrs. Tzamakou Eleftheria, and doctors and nurses were also present, who thanked for this important donation, expressing their desire and other businesses to contribute to the improvement of patient care.

It is worth noting that this year was the third consecutive year that Kafeemporiki “ran” an awareness campaign for the prevention of breast cancer, dedicating its glass to this great cause. An initiative embraced by dozens of Lavazza coffee shop owners in Ioannina, Arta, Preveza, Lefkada, Igoumenitsa, Parga, Meganisi, Grevena, Kastoria, Florina and Amyntaio.

The cups of Kafeemporiki, in pink color and with the slogans “Don’t forget to care for your self” and “Self care is not a luxury it’s necessity”, aimed to serve as a reminder to women to include prevention in their daily life, making an appointment for an ultrasound and mammogram.

In previous years, the Kafeemporiki company had allocated part of the income of the initiative to the Association of Patients with Neoplasia “Emistes Mazi” of Ioannina and to corresponding associations in Arta and Preveza, as well as to the Panhellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois”.
