At the end of November, over 120 people gathered when Swedish Elite Football organized the Sustainability Arena in Gothenburg. This year’s theme was social sustainability, and how Swedish football together with business and the public sector can create the right conditions to build a better society.
In connection with the conference, interviews were conducted with some of the participants, including Beatrice Clarke who held the conference in the role of sustainability manager at Swedish Elite Soccer.
– The days have contributed to reminding ourselves that football and sports actually played a part in building the Swedish welfare society. When we now leave here, we need to think together about how to move forward and continue the fine work we have started, says Beatrice Clarke, sustainability manager at Swedish Elite Soccer.

Another of the 120 participants at the 2023 Sustainability Arena was Vedad Aganovic, who is responsible for social sustainability at IF Elfsborg. Aganovic describes how he and his colleagues want to make a difference for Borås with the help of IF Elfsborg’s great brand and traditional history.
– We have been involved since the beginning when SEF started this work together with the elite clubs. We want to make a difference for our city with the help of the great brand we have and the history that Elfsborg has. We want to do it together with our city and our partners and the theme of our work is a safer and better Borås, that is our main theme.
