LIER: All the emergency services rushed to Lier when the fire alarm went off. There is a detached house in Haskollveien that is on fire, and it is a very heavy fire.
– Everyone in the house has been accounted for. Neighbors are evacuating now, writes Sørøst police district on X at 05.27.
They also stated that there was a risk of spread.
At 05.44 the fire service was inside with smoke divers in the affected detached house. Neighboring houses were also evacuated.
When Drammens Tidende interviews Øystein Eikedalen, operations manager in the Søreast police district, at 06.30, there is a reduced risk of spreading. At the same time, there are still strong flames at the site.
– The fire has taken up again on the second floor. I can’t say that the house has burned down, but it is not possible to live there as it is now, says Eikedalen.
The operations manager confirms that no one was injured as a result of the fire. There were three people in the house in question when it started to burn, and one of them alerted the emergency services.
– We received a message from the 110 central, and it was one of the residents who alerted, says Eikedalen.
He cannot say anything about the cause of the fire. The residents of the fire-stricken house got out by their own machine, and also made sure to notify neighbours.
Jan Rundtom, supervisor at the Sør-East 110 central, informs Drammens Tidende that crews from the stations in Mjøndalen and Drammen are on site.
– There is an ongoing extinguishing effort now, says Rundtom shortly after seven o’clock on Monday morning.
– The latest I have from the fire service is that the risk of spreading has been reduced, says Rundtom.
