Two Bulgarian sailors will stand trial today in the Irish city of Limerick in connection with the discovery of cocaine worth 21 million euros on board the “Verila” ship, dnes.bg reported, referring to the “Irish Times” newspaper.
The men, aged 32 and 35, have been charged.
They are expected to appear at a special meeting of Limerick District Court at 3:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. Bulgarian time).
The four other Bulgarians arrested as part of the police investigation have been released without charge.
A sixth crew member of the Verilla has been detained in Ireland
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
