In an interview with Sky News Arabia, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, Ashraf Al-Qudra, described the health scene as “tragic” in northern Gaza.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli attack had risen to more than 20,000 citizens, 70% of whom were women and children, and more than 53,000 injuries since October 7.
Lethal mechanism
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip describes the health situation in Gaza at the present time, which he described as “tragic,” in the following points:
- The health situation in southern Gaza has reached unprecedented, catastrophic levels, and hospitals have lost control as a result of being overcrowded with huge numbers of wounded and hundreds of wounded lying on the ground.
- Medical teams are unable to treat all patients as a result of the influx of hundreds of wounded after each massacre, and the lack of specialized medical, clinical and human capabilities.
- Operating rooms are crowded with wounded, and hundreds are waiting for a chance to save their lives.
- The wounded are bleeding to death with no health care provided.
Constant collapse
Al-Qudra confirms that the Israeli army still controls the quantity, quality and path of medical aid and deprives the North of it despite its limitations.
Two days ago, the spokesman for the Palestinian Red Crescent, Abdel Jalil Hanjal, announced that there were severe difficulties in distributing aid to the displaced in Gaza due to the interruption of communications.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health denounced in a statement, “the practices of the Israeli army and its violation of international law in hundreds of incidents against health work components on a repeated basis.”
The Ministry said that Israel seeks to destroy the health system and deprive all residents of the Gaza Strip, including children, pregnant women, tumor patients, and the wounded, so it targeted hospitals, primary care centers, ambulances, and health humanitarian work personnel.
As the Ministry indicated, a female worker at the besieged Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza was sniper-killed.
She added that those trapped inside Al Awda Hospital are in a state of terror, sniping, arrest, and torture, without water, without food, and without medicine.
