AMIN National Team Captain Muhammad Syaugi responded to the General Chairperson of PBNU KH Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya who joked that the vice presidential candidate was number 1, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin there is a possibility of not winning the 2024 election. Syaugi said that it will be the people who will determine whether they win or not in the presidential election, not individual people.
“Yes, it’s okay, it’s just him, just leave it alone, the people who judge it will be the community, not individual people, it will be determined on February 14,” said Syaugi at the AMIN Winning House, Diponegoro 10, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday (24/12/2023 ).
Syaugi then brought up the survey results which cannot be used as a benchmark for victory. He said that in the end those who hold ultimate control are the people.
“This is the same question that is always said, ‘Wow, how do you respond to survey number 3 or number 2’, right? Often, Mr. Anies always says that the election will be February 14 2024, not now, not the results of the current survey,” said Syaugi.
He said that if the election were held now, then the survey results would become a reference for the winning team to work hard. His party said they were focusing on getting people’s votes before voting.
“Except for the current election, if the survey is low it will encourage us to work harder AMEN. If the survey is high, thank God, that’s all,” he said.
Gus Yahya together with former Chairman of PBNU KH Said Aqil Siradj and vice presidential candidate number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin previously attended the 85th Haul of KH Muhammad Munawwir bin Abdullah Rosyad at the Al-Munawwir Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Krapyak, Yogyakarta. Gus Yahya joked that Cak Imin might not win.
Gus Yahya went up to the stage after Cak Imin finished giving his speech. On this occasion, Gus Yahya admitted that he always attended every haul event held by the Al-Munawwir Islamic Boarding School.
“My honor, those I respect, the figures, the officials, Mr. Muhaimin Iskandar, thank God, this year he was present at this Krapyak Islamic Boarding School haul. I have been living here since ’79, aged 13 and I have been at home until 94 and after that “Until now, I have not once been absent from this Haul Assembly except once when I was probably only in Mecca for a year,” said Gus Yahya in his speech at the location, Saturday (23/12/2023) evening.
Gus Yahya explained that his consistency in attending every haul event was because he was motivated by Kiai Said Aqil. He explained that Kiai Said Aqil consistently attended the haul.
“I imitate Kiai Said Aqil Siroj, who is also steadfast in always attending the Rembang Central Java Haul Masyayikh Assembly. He said to me, ‘Pokoke, I’m invited, or I’m invited, I’m speaking,’ said Kiai Said Aqil,” said Gus Yahya.
“Because of istiqomah, the reason why he used to study with Kiai Kholil Harun Rembang. This father is the way for the students to give birth to mahabbah to the community and his efforts to maintain the spiritual relationship between the students and their kiai,” he added.
Then Gus Yahya admitted that this was the first time he had seen Cak Imin’s presence at a haul event at the Al-Munawwir Islamic Boarding School, Krapyak. Gus Yahya also hopes that Cak Imin can continue to attend this haul event.
“If Pak Muhaimin I remember I was just this once Alhamdulillah, hopefully after this istiqomah will continue to show up even though I may not win but still come hauling like this, istiqomah,” said Gus Yahya greeted with laughter from the audience.
