The Day Before’s Development Studio Fntastic Ceases Operations, Game to Shut Down on January 22, 2024, Steam to Compensate Customers

A post on the official Twitter account of The Day Before informed, that the development studio Fntastic has ceased operations, and as a result, the title will cease to function on January 22, 2024, when its servers will go silent for good. As a publisher and investor, Mytona continues to work with Steam to compensate and refund customers who previously purchased the game. Steam itself is supposed to proactively refund everyone who hasn’t requested it yet.

Mytona thanked the fans for their support during development. Unfortunately, without a development team, he has no choice but to officially close the project. Apparently the publisher is not interested in looking for other authors or resuscitating the title in any way. Not that it’s surprising. But it is all the more sad that in recent days there have been reports that some people are willing to pay hundreds of dollars to code dealers for a game that is no longer officially available.

But he won’t do anything with her anyway. The question is whether they could play some unofficial way and whether anyone would even care. Perhaps there is one more question. If Steam refunds everyone automatically, it’s quite possible that someone will spend hundreds of dollars on the code, only to have the game disappear from their library and get “back” the $40, which was the original price tag.
