Deck13 Announces Major Project Codenamed Foxtrot Using Unreal Engine 5 – Planned for 2026

Deck13, the developer of The Surge series and the recently released Atlas Fallen, will create its next major project, codenamed Foxtrot, using Unreal Engine 5.

As confirmed by the German publication Games economy, the studio has no plans to completely abandon its own Fledge engine just yet, as it continues to work on Atlas Fallen with plans to introduce various improvements and release the Wielder of the Gods expansion next year. The Foxtrot project on Unreal Engine 5 is planned for 2026 and will be subsidized by the German Ministry of Economic Affairs with more than 5 million euros.

As more developers move to Unreal Engine 5, it looks like Epic’s latest version of the engine will be used in the biggest games in the coming years. Among the studios that have started working on this engine is CD Projekt RED, which is developing the next parts of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 series on it. The transition to UE5 turned out to be a difficult challenge for Polish developers, but also an opportunity to create something grandiose, according to the quest leader. Cyberpunk 2077 designer Pavel Sasko.
