Libreville, December 23, 2023 (AGP) – Gabon plans to invest 159.78 billion FCFA in public works in 2024, priority of which will be given to the national road, announced the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI ), during the stay of the President of the Transition in Woleu-Ntem (north of the country).
The State Gabonese intends to invest 30.9 billion FCFA for the Oyem-Medzeng road, 24 billion CFA francs for the construction of two (2) fly-overs, 4 pedestrian bridges, on the new EBEL-ABANGA bridge. Likewise, 8.3 billion CFA francs for the continuation of the Transgabonaise project (Bifoun-ndjolé section), as well as 10 billion CFA francs, with a view to reinforcing concrete bridges across the country.
The Ovan-Makokou road receives an amount of 6.5 billion FCFA. That of Forasol-Mbega is set at 5.5 billion FCFA. While the Moanda-Bakoumba road will be financed to the tune of 3 billion FCFA.
This investment portfolio announced by the transitional authorities also takes into account Libreville and its surroundings. The Cap-Owendo ring road (including a tramway) will benefit from a budget of 12 billion FCFA. The Sibang-Bambouchine road benefits from a budget of 10 billion FCFA.
A road rehabilitation program in 8 provinces is also planned. It will cost the taxpayer an amount of 36.5 billion FCFA
