Santiago Taboada condemns CDMX government for using public money on election instead of Pfizer vaccines

MEXICO CITY (apro).– The sole candidate of the Va por la Ciudad de México alliance, Santiago Taboada, assured that the capital government uses public money to try to win the 2024 elections, instead of using it on Pfizer vaccines against the covid-19.

In a meeting with supporters and activists of the Coyoacán mayor’s office, the PAN member stated: “Today we are seeing enormous lines in the city’s pharmacies for a vaccine that this government should have given to the people for free, and it is precisely today, today they have the money, today they have the government, and they should be applying that vaccine that is approved, that is of quality, to all of us who live here.”

Accompanied by the opposition presidential candidate Xóchitl Gálvez, he condemned that the residents of the capital pay for the Pfizer vaccine against covid-19, then attacked the current administration:

“But where do you think they are occupying it? Look, they are so bad at governing that they don’t even use it in the Metro, they don’t even use it to fix the buses or vans, they don’t even use it for the potholes, they don’t even use it to have more patrols, they don’t use it for the water and less to give them vaccines in this city.”

Severo, the pre-candidate accused: “They are occupying it to try to win an election, which I tell you here, they have lost it, we are going to win Mexico City from them, and we are going to win the country from them.”

With the aim of immunizing the population against covid-19 and influenza, the CDMX Health Secretariat (Sedesa) started a vaccination campaign on October 16 that will last until March 31, 2024, in which offers the population the Sputnik vaccines, developed by Russia, and Abdala, from Cuba.

However, this week the sale of the updated Pfizer vaccine began in the main pharmacy chains, where it can be purchased for 845 pesos. According to journalistic reports, sales of the biological shot up in different states of the Republic, even in CDMX they were sold out on the first day of sale.
