ANWB Traffic Information: Winter Travel Delays Expected Due to Turbulent Weather in Europe

ANWB Traffic Information expects delays on the routes to the winter sports areas this weekend (22-24 December). Around the start of the Christmas holidays, many people head for the snow in the Alps.

Turbulent weather

Stormy weather is forecast in the winter sports countries on Saturday, which could make driving conditions more difficult, resulting in extra long traffic jams.

Germany

In Germany there will be traffic jams on the routes to the south on Saturday, December 23. It gets especially busy on the roads around Frankfurt, Karlsruhe in München. The German sister club ADAC also warns of border controls for returning holiday traffic on the way from Austria to Germany. This may cause long traffic jams border crossings Suben (A3), Walserberg (A8) in Kiefersfelden (A93).

Austria and Switzerland
