After just over eight hours of travel, tonight the inaugural train of the Transismico Railway, in which President Andrés Manuel López Obrador traveled, arrived at the terminal station of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz.
At 8:13 p.m., the railway convoy arrived at the station of this Veracruz port.
Along with President López Obrador, the United States ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, descended; businessman Carlos Slim, from Grupo Carso; among other businessmen.

The governors of Veracruz, Cuitlahuac García; from Oaxaca, Salomón Jara; from Chiapas, Rutilio Escandón, and from Tabasco, Carlos Merino.
On his social networks, the federal president stated that the return of passenger trains is transcendental and uniting the Pacific Ocean with the Atlantic is “a historic event that we achieved with the participation of construction workers, companies and communities.”
“We inaugurated line Z of the Interoceanic Train of the Isth of Tehuantepec in Salina Cruz; this project means future and development for new generations,” he wrote on the social network.
Before arriving, Train staff distributed Veracruz pambazos and coffee to the passengers as dinner.
