FC Metz is going to embrace Georges Mikautadze. According to The Team the French club has reached an agreement with Ajax on a rental deal. The 23-year-old attacker is not performing well at Ajax and can therefore leave again in the winter. Metz would like to rent the striker until the end of this season.
This week it was already revealed that the French club was interested in the Ajax attacker. The newspaper talks about ‘the return of the king.’ The rental deal will be announced soon. Mikautadze must join Metz’s selection on December 29.
Metz coach László Bölön is already opening the door for Mikautadze. ‘Georges has not had an easy time in Amsterdam. He can always return, because this was an opportunity he could not miss. I really hope he wants to return now,” says the Romanian. Mikautadze scored 23 times for Metz last season. In addition, he was named player of the year in Ligue 2. He therefore played a major role in the club’s promotion.
Difficult period
The Georgian striker has not yet emerged at Ajax. He could not count on many playing minutes under different trainers. The counter now stands at 338 playing minutes, spread over nine matches. The striker was unable to score a goal or an assist in those minutes. Mikautadze came over this summer for a fee of sixteen million euros.
