That’s because the startup she worked for “didn’t have the workload or space” to train her or let her do the work she was supposed to do.
In an email to Business Insider, Acero said the layoffs have “nothing to do with” the previously viral video and that he has “no grudge” against the company.
She says in the video that her former boss has praised her performance and hopes it will be a good recommendation.
Still, he told his followers he was not optimistic given that he needed to find a new job by January 2, 2024, and many companies would not be hiring during the holiday season. He also listed all of his accomplishments, including the degrees he earned, internships, and building a portfolio.
However, he says he is reluctant to try job hunting again.
“We’ve done everything we can, but it’s still not enough.”
Acero is considering working as a babysitter or waitress until she finds a new marketing job. She said her previous 9-to-5 job didn’t give her enough money to live on, so she couldn’t save for emergencies.
