Faced with a new outbreak of COVID-19 cases, Mayor Iván Arias stated this Friday that if someone dies from this disease it will be because they are “stupid”, because for two years they have had the opportunity to be vaccinated.
“At this point in the game, excuse me, anyone who dies of COVID is stupid. I don’t understand why they aren’t going to get vaccinated. We’ve been harping on this for two years. And there are people who say: ‘I’m going to die of Covid.’ No. You are dying of nonsense,” said the Mayor.
He pointed out that in his case he has eight vaccines against this disease. “It doesn’t catch me again,” said Arias, who in 2020 was in serious condition and hospitalized for almost a month when he was infected with the coronavirus.
The Mayor asked please that if there is an outbreak of the disease, all the more reason to get vaccinated.
He stated that the Municipal or National Government should not be blamed for an issue that is the exclusive responsibility of the citizen.
