Volkswagen CEO Unveils 2023 Plans: New Generation Tiguan, Passat, ID.7, and Updated Golf

In the official video summarizing the year 2023, CEO Thomas Schäfer addressed earlier news. The list of new vehicles included the new generation Tiguan and Passat along with the ID.7 and the updated ID.3. At the end of the video, however, Schäfer announced that the facelift of the Golf will be released next year.

Judging by the roof rails, the Variant version of the Volkswagen Golf appeared on the darkened shot. After the facelift, it has new headlights. The LED light bar remains, bisected by an illuminated VW badge. The facelifted Touareg also has one, but only at the back.

We can expect changes in the interior along the lines of the new Passat. The power units will be mostly mild-hybrid.

The eighth generation after the modernization will become the last Volkswagen Golf with internal combustion engines. Volkswagen has announced that the ninth generation, which will arrive in 2028, will be exclusively electric on the company’s new SSP platform. He also stated that from 2033 it will only produce electric cars in Europe.
