Aisha Abdul Rahim Al-Bairaq was born in the city of Kalba, and she is proud of the fact that she grew up in this beautiful city, and lived in an area on the coast, and because the neighborhood in which she lived was located directly on the sea coast, it was called the Al-Bahr neighborhood, and when she was young, she remembers the children moving between the neighborhoods or Al-Farjan, They visit the homes of the neighborhood with all joy and enjoyment, because the people know each other closely, and to this day she still remembers all those wonderful moments that she lived, which became realistic stories that she tells her children, and Aisha Al-Bayraq confirms that she can draw their neighborhood, house by house, even the color of sea sand, because Nothing of the past has left her memory, which stores the past.
The house of her grandfather, Jassim Al-Bairaq, was well-known to the people of Kalba. He owned commercial projects, and his house was open to the men of the neighborhood, whether neighbors or merchants, and so was the case for women. Therefore, this community bonding and communication was rich in ideas that were reflected in the personality of Aisha Al-Bairaq, who loved heritage in all its aspects. Especially since her mother and grandmother sought to develop the child Aisha’s skills, and her grandmother taught her to make traditional dolls from fabrics and cotton, as she was a skilled craftsman in making clothes for the family.
Aisha Al-Bairaq became passionate about making dolls, and learned how to sew doll clothes that match the Emirati heritage dress for women and children, as well as men. Since she is a skilled craftsman in making clothes, she used to separate and sew these dolls.
Her mother was known to have the ability to memorize, so she used to recite wisdom, proverbs, and true stories about the situations of her ancestors and their lives. Aisha Al-Bayraq also learned a lot from her mother, who always recommended preserving inheritance.
She loved making dolls and linking them to stories, neighborhoods, and what goes on in them. She began participating in heritage events and exhibitions in the country, where she participated with her collection of heritage dolls, telling generations inspiring stories about the past, and the importance of toys in girls’ lives to develop their skills, and teaching girls through dolls how to become successful and loving. For goodness, and Aisha Al-Bayrak is continuing with her project and stories in support of heritage.
