One of the most relevant domestic rappers, Prusax, was silent for a while, but now he is back – with a new single “Sidequest” and its animated video.
The song “Sidequest” was made in collaboration with Finnish producer Pehmee Goo and is a precursor to next year’s Prusax album “TJZ”. Don’t be confused by its name – the song is in Latvian, with the lexicon characteristic of this rapper, a good and stylish piece.
“This summer I went on a creative two-day trip to Helsinki, where I actively worked on new music in the studio together with several Finnish producers. “Sidequest” came together quickly and organically, I really like this sound myself, which is more aggressive and different from my last single “W (As it should be)”, explains Prusax. “Choosing this piece as a comeback single after a longer break is symbolic, because I’ve been in my sidequest era for a while, filming and creating various projects, streaming, performing, but recently I came back from my most extreme sidequest – a seven-day hike together with various people known in Latvia in Sweden beyond the Arctic Circle, as part of the “Outside the Zone” project.”
It should be recalled that Prusax started his musical journey in 2017 with the debut single “Xvizits”, but became known to the wider public as one of the members of the “New Wavy” group, conquering the hip-hop audience with such hits as “Sporta hūnis”, “Pirmais līga” and ” Rap Game Terrorist”. In 2020, Prusax’s debut album “A+” was released, and in 2021 he started cooperation with “Universal Music Group”.
“I have spent the last month looking back on the past year, continuing work on the new album and other projects, as well as planning another trip to shoot a video outside of Latvia for a longer period of time,” informs Prusax.
