MÉRIDA, Yucatán.— Through his social network account “X”, formerly Twitter, the meteorologist Juan Antonio Palma Solíscoordinator of the meteorology agency Meteored Mexicoanticipated that, by dawn this Thursday, the extensive mass of cold air that covers the region, will give rise to cold temperatures, from 10 °C to 15 °C, in most of the states of Yucatán and Campeche, as well as the west and south of Quintana Roo. In the rest of the region, temperatures will be between 15 °C and 20 °C.
Palma Solís also reported that for the weekend, temperatures will increase.
The expert points out that, for Sunday, December 24, a high pressure located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea will promote tropical maritime air towards the peninsular region, which will allow temperatures begin to increase and some afternoon rains occur.

Meteorologist Juan Vázquez Montalvo, from Ciafeme-Uady, reported that the 2023 winter season will begin this Thursday, December 21.
Vázquez Montalvo explained that today the day will be shorter and the night longer, this phenomenon is known as the Winter Solstice.
The winter season will begin this Thursday at 9:47 p.m., the expert added.
