The predicted snowy weather has arrived and it affects traffic in the morning hours.

Traffic operator Sara Bendiksen at Vegtrafikksentralen south asks people who will be driving on this busy departure day to adjust their speed.
– There may be some snow on certain roads and it may also be quite slippery in places. That is why it is important to drive according to the conditions and calculate extra time, she tells VG.
Bendiksen states that all crews are prepared and have cars out to clear the roads continuously.

On Thursday, storm “Pia” will arrive in full force in this country. It brings with it large amounts of snow in both Western and Eastern Norway, and not least strong winds in South-Western Norway.
It didn’t take long before the snowy weather affected the morning traffic. Just after 07:00 a traffic accident was reported on the E18 in Porsgrunn near Langangen, where a car had been thrown and ended up in the guardrail.
– The person seems unharmed, but there are long queues at the site. The car is blocking both lanes, operations manager Marianne Mørk told VG.
The road was closed in both directions at one point.
– How are the driving conditions?
– It is snowing, so it has become a bit challenging to drive on the E18 in the area there.
At 07.43 the police state that the car has been pushed away from the scene and that traffic can go in both directions again.
