YouTube Introduces New Shorts Video Sharing Features for Mobile Users

YouTube has essentially become an inexhaustible storehouse of videos by now, only recordings that violate the regulations are not on the platform. Recently, however, the company has shifted its focus not to normal videos, but to short, fast-paced content in line with trends, and now a change is coming that will help them.

The company is transforming the YouTube Shorts video sharing option in the mobile application. Thanks to this, in the future there may be a rapid increase in the amount of shared recordings. In addition to the quantity, the quality can also improve, thanks to the fact that it will be easier to get more out of the recordings.

Shorts videos are primarily aimed at smartphones, in this case most content consumers are clearly available on mobile. Despite this, making Shorts videos from existing recordings has been difficult up until now. However, there is now a positive change in this area. You can now freely zoom into the videos in order to achieve the appropriate aspect ratio, and the division of the display will also be possible with the press of a button in several ways.

YouTube didn’t talk too much about the innovation, rather a Shorts style in video showed what changes can be expected. If the user is watching a normal video and finds a scene that he wants to share with his followers in a Shorts recording, he can do it with a few button presses and a quick formatting on his smartphone screen. The immediately available Remix button in the menu below the desired video should be used for this.

There are several editing options within Remix, in our case users need to look for the new “Edit into a Short” option, which will be located at the top of the pop-up menu. After that, you can do the cutting right away, because in the case of Shorts, the main thing is that the result is short and concise. If you have the right scene, click on the “Layout” option, where you can adjust the alignment of the video.

Shorts generally fit on a vertical mobile screen, while traditional videos don’t, and that’s why YouTube is introducing support for the “pinch” zoom gesture on mobile. With two fingers, the creator will be able to set the zoom level in such a way that all important parts remain in the image. Three different split-screen formations will also become available within Remix. With the split image, different parts of the same scene can also be highlighted by two-finger zooming.

The new sharing option became intuitive, and the YouTube team focused on this, so that as many users as possible could take advantage of the option and make using it an experience. Thanks to this, more interesting and better edited Shorts videos can be presented to content consumers. According to the company’s report, the new “Layout” options, i.e. the split image and zooming with a two-finger gesture, will also be available for the other Remix functions.

The fresh option is gradually introduced to users, and it is worth keeping the application fresh.
