Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban complained that with Ukraine’s accession to the EU, all Central European support – including that directed to Hungary – would go to Kyiv.

Details: According to Orban, never before in the history of Europe has a country that is at war wanted to be included in the European Union.

At the same time, Orban said that it is not yet clear whether Ukraine will join the EU along with the territories that are currently under Russian control. It is worth noting that this option is not currently being considered by either the EU or Kiev.

“There is no doubt that if we accepted Ukraine, then all the aid that was provided to the countries of Central Europe, including Hungary, would be transferred to them,” the Hungarian prime minister complained, without giving any explanation as to where he got such data.

Let us remind you that on December 14 at the EU summit the leaders supported the opening of negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on their accession to the European Union.

Although the decision on Kyiv was blocked by Hungary for a long time, its veto was overcome by persuading the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban escape from during voting and thus hold out.

Orban himself later said that he agreed to give up his veto on the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU because he will have many more opportunities block this process.
