Microsoft Acquires Activision Blizzard: Bobby Kotick’s Departure and Leadership Changes

Microsoft was still able to acquire Activision Blizzard. It looks like Bobby Kotick’s reign is coming to an end.

Information has emerged that Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick leaves resign on December 29, 2023. He led the company for many years, but now everything is changing.

It looks like there will no longer be a new executive director (CEO) of Activision Blizzard: Microsoft is now reassigning executives.

For example, the President of Activision Publishing; Blizzard Entertainment President Mike Ibarra; Vice President of Activision Blizzard, President of King will report to Matt Booty (this is Xbox’s President of Studios and Game Content).

The Chief Administrative Officer of Activision Publishing will report to the Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft Gaming.

Some other Activision Blizzard managers will also leave the company.
