As reported, the ruling Progressive Party of Serbia (SNS) represented by President Aleksandar Vučić, according to the official results, won about 46% of the votes in the parliamentary elections, winning an absolute majority, while the leading coalition of opposition parties “Serbia Against Violence” (SPN) – only 23.5% of the votes. .
The SNS has announced that it also won the simultaneous municipal elections in Belgrade, where the ruling party had to face the strongest opposition from the SPN.
The SPN was formed after months of anti-government protests sparked by shootings in May that killed 17 people, including eight children.
