The court cited the fact that he had only a ninth-grade education and had served 17 years in prison as the reason for granting parole. His wife Indira, through her lawyer daughter Kirti Jayanandan, approached the High Court with the demand that Jayanandan be granted parole. Hearing the petition, the High Court observed that Jayanand was not eligible for regular parole. But the parole was granted for two days during the day, clarifying that the constitutional courts have the authority to decide on this matter.
“The petitioner’s husband should understand the legal battle his daughter fought before this court to get parole. When the escort goes out on parole he must ensure that the court’s instructions are followed for two days after the parole is granted. The accused must bear in mind the legal battle fought by his wife and daughter to get parole. This fate is the result of the hard work of both of them. This daughter loves her father deeply. He is very keen to attend the book launch.
It should be ensured that the court orders are strictly followed in order to continue this legal battle legally for both parties. Despite being accused in five murder cases, the legal battle waged by the daughter to ensure her father an opportunity to participate in this ceremony is commendable. Just like the mother, the father is the hero inside every child.

The parole was to attend his daughter’s wedding. The High Court then granted a two-day escort parole to attend her elder daughter’s wedding.
