Volkswagen launched sales of the ID.7 Vizzion electric sedan in China, but the number of people willing to purchase the car turned out to be very small. In the first three days, only 300 people decided to order an electric car, reports carnewschina.com, citing a CarFans report.
Despite the fact that in China the price of the ID.7 Vizzion is almost 50% lower than in Europe, many customers were scared off by the high price of the electric car, analysts said. Visitors to car dealerships liked the spacious interior of the car, but they were unhappy with the need to pay extra for such basic options as heated seats and the offered trim levels.
The price of ID.7 Vizzion in China is 237.7 thousand yuan (3 million rubles at the exchange rate at the time of publication). The low interest in the model in the Chinese market is explained, among other things, by the presence of many more affordable competitors priced at about 200 thousand yuan – Zeekr 007, BYD Seal, BYD Han, Neta S, Rising F7, Leapmotor C01, Tesla Model 3 and others.
According to analysts, about 90% of those who decided to buy a new product were men aged about 40 who considered the ID.7 Vizzion as a second car for the family. It is noted that another recent failure for Volkswagen in the Chinese market was the electric hatchback ID.3 – in order to increase sales, the company had to radically reduce the price of the car several times.
Volkswagen ID.7 Vizzion is called the electric successor to the Passat sedan. The sedan is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 204 hp, the power reserve is 700 km.
