Finally, Dr. Guttmann recommends niacin. Niacin can increase “good” HDL cholesterol and lower “bad” LDL cholesterol. Bad cholesterol refers to cholesterol that can contribute to the buildup of plaque in the arteries resulting in an increased risk of heart health problems.

These various supplements are often used to manage high cholesterol. It should be noted that it should not be viewed as a replacement for a healthy lifestyle.
