The train line has had several challenges since it opened just over a year ago.
The biggest problem is water leaks.
In May, a power cable caught fire, fell down and came into contact with the train. The train was stuck in the tunnel for several hours.
Prioritizes rush hour traffic
The plan is to close one tunnel run at a time, while the other tunnel run is open to traffic

Rush-hour traffic will run almost as normal in one tunnel run.
The trains will run through the Blixtunnel from Ski to Oslo S in the morning rush hour, and from Oslo S to Ski in the afternoon rush hour.
The trains in the opposite direction run on Østfoldbanen’s local line. The journey time will therefore be extended by 15 to 20 minutes.
Replaces the power cords
The trains that run through the Follobanen tunnel today receive power from aluminum lines in the roof of the tunnel.
Due to water leaks, alkaline water has dripped onto these lines. This has led to problems in the tunnel.
– In order to improve the power supply and reduce the risk of this happening again, it is necessary to change the power lines to copper lines, and simplify the power supply system, says Sandvin.
Bane Nor is now looking for a contractor who can assist in the work.
The plan is for the work to start during the spring. It will then be completed during 2024.
