The situation is as follows. Yesterday I told here that I have been suffering from Face ID not working on the iPhone 13 Pro Max for almost a week now. The problem started without any noticeable reason and was not corrected in any way. Moreover, due to the innovations of iOS 17.3, I couldn’t even turn off the function itself.
Late last night I again tried to understand what was happening – and completely unexpectedly for myself (and you) I found a way to solve the problem.
This looks like nonsense or trolling, but in fact it absolutely works. See below.
How to restore Face ID on iPhone

If you want to do the same with a personal iPhone suffering from Face ID problems, be sure to first put a case on the device with high sides around the display. Otherwise, fix Face ID, but you will break the screen.
Just in case, I warn you that the old grandfather’s method should be repeated only at your own peril and risk, and I am not responsible if you smash half your smartphone on the table in a frenzy.
I spotted this ingenious method on Reddit in a less popular post six months ago. It’s interesting that the owner there also has an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Are we seeing a defect in this particular model that appears after some one and a half to two years from the date of purchase? Hard to tell.
But I can say one thing for sure: I hit the table a couple of times, and now I’m enjoying working Face ID again. Use it if you also find yourself in a similar situation.
