NNA – The Lebanese Athletics Federation organized a symposium entitled “Doping – International Law and Standards,” in the presence of all members of the administrative body and representatives of the clubs, including administrators, coaches and players, in addition to university students, at the headquarters of the Greek Charitable Association in Beirut.
The symposium was opened by the Secretary-General of the Federation, Wassim Al-Houli, with a welcome speech. He considered that “these seminars are necessary to maintain clean athletics free of doping, and this is in line with the strategy of World Athletics and the Integrity Unit in Athletics.”
The head of the Federation’s medical committee, Ayman Al-Shami, spoke about the committee’s plan to combat doping and work within international standards to educate athletes about its dangers.
Then, physical therapist Jihad Haddad lectured at the symposium about the new laws and amendments recently issued to combat doping and limit its spread among players.
At the end, plaques of appreciation were distributed.
