This Monday, the first vice president and Minister of Economy, Nadia Calviño, announced that the Government and the banks have agreed to expand the threshold of aid to families with mortgages suffocated by the rise in the Euribor, which rises to 38,000 euros per year. per household.
Upon hearing Calviño’s words, economic journalist José María Camarero considers this measure “timely”, since it is “an umbrella that expands”, although he remembers that so far only about 3,000 homes have been able to take advantage of it.
“Most of these refinancing or interest rate reduction measures have been agreed between the client and the bank, without going through the code of good practices. It may be good that it is expanded, but in reality it will not be so necessary use it because everything is being done for that ‘you to you'”, he assures.
Furthermore, remember that the delinquency rate is barely around 3%, something that is linked to the good evolution of the labor market: “As long as there is employment, people can pay their mortgages.”
