The hockey player who was charged last spring with assault and breach of child protection has received his sentence.
He is acquitted of assault but convicted of molestation and breach of child protection.
The penalty is daily fines and damages.
Last spring, Sportbladet reported that a 35-year-old Swedish hockey player with credentials from Tre Kronor was charged with assault and breach of child protection.
According to the lawsuit, he would have abused a woman in front of their common child.
The district court has now assessed that the woman’s injuries were not the result of intentional assault, but that the investigation supported the accusation of molestation.
Sentenced to fines and damages
The hockey player is sentenced to a suspended sentence in the form of 30 daily fines of SEK 200, which corresponds to a total of SEK 6,000.
He is also sentenced to pay 10,000 kroner in damages to the woman and their common child, as well as a fee to the victim fund of 1,000 kroner.
The hockey player says that he can neither admit nor deny the act “because he has no memories” and that he opposes paying the damages.
