21st National Foreign Affairs Conference in Hanoi: Minister Bui Thanh Son highlights importance of external activities

(VOVWORLD) – The 21st National Foreign Affairs Conference kicked off this Monday morning in Hanoi. The event aims to take stock of the external activities of localities over the last two years and to define measures aimed at increasing their effectiveness in the service of local development in the years to come.

Participants highlighted the crucial importance of foreign affairs and international integration in the development of each locality. They also made numerous proposals aimed at making this work more professional and efficient in the future. Present at the event, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son praised the significant contributions of external activities to national development.

“It is appropriate to recognize the active role of external activities in maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, as well as in defending sovereignty and territorial integrity. They have also played a crucial role in mobilizing external resources to deal with the Covid-19 epidemic, stimulate recovery and promote socio-economic development, thus contributing to enhancing the prestige of our country on a global scale. The network of external relations has continued to expand, promoting thus the development of the country and its localities”, he underlined.
