LG Launches Transparent Antenna Sunroof Film for Cars with Saint-Gobain Sekurit

LG Electronics (LG) has launched a transparent antenna as a sunroof film for cars in collaboration with French glass manufacturer Saint-Gobain Sekurit.

Many car brands are now using cellular connectivity to connect various systems in their vehicles. Especially electric cars and driverless cars that use software as a driver. But the problem is that the signal reception may be spotty while driving. As a result, the market is demanding a more stable connection. LG has developed a transparent antenna in the form of a film for car sunroofs or windows.

There are two types of this film to choose from: Glass-mounted type, which can be attached to many types of glass. The design is a clear film. Makes it possible to attach to any brand of car without having to redesign it. and embedded in glass Comes with features supporting 5G connectivity, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and Wi-Fi.

What is interesting is The film uses 80 patents held by LG, and a collaboration with Saint-Gobain Sekurit allows the film to be embedded right into the glass. This company is responsible for producing glass for famous electric cars around the world.
