1. Challenging week in hockey Slovan
Hockey Slovan was hit by sad news last week, the club’s majority shareholder Rudolf Hrubý died on Thursday at the age of 69. It is not yet clear whether his family will stay at the club. Hrubý was a minority shareholder of Denník N.
Hrubý bought Slovan more than three years ago from the oligarch Juraj Široký, in his second season with him he won the title. He also created the second Blue Wings team, which played in the first league (the second highest competition).
He claimed that, for now, the goal of the Slav was to stay in Slovakia and go abroad only when he dominates at home. In that case, he would play abroad with the stronger team and would like to keep the weaker one in Slovakia. Hrubý was also a member of the executive committee of the Slovak Ice Hockey Association, he belonged to the wing that supported the current president Miroslav Šatan.
He also said that he would like to buy or completely lease the Ondrej Nepela Winter Stadium from the city of Bratislava, which he did not succeed in doing. However, he cooperated with the Bratislava County on the construction of a training center in Petržalka.
Several changes took place in Slovan last week. Club management
