By significantly improving the shopping experience for residents, this year “Maxima Latvija” has adapted another 33 stores throughout Latvia to the unified store concept. By the end of the year, the new concept will be implemented in 70% or 121 “Maxima” stores, thus providing a comfortable shopping environment for customers, as well as facilitating the everyday life of employees and introducing a series of sustainable solutions in retail.
“In the two years since we started the transition to a single store concept, we have worked purposefully to make the shopping experience more pleasant and intuitive for our customers and a more comfortable working environment for our colleagues. During this year, we have continued the development of the sales network, paying attention not only to the improvement of “Maxima X” format stores, but also adapting most of the large format “Maxima XX” stores in the store network to the new concept. The improvements made allow our customers to shop faster and more conveniently, because regardless of the city where the purchases are made, all stores of the new concept will have a customized layout and a uniform assortment, thus also allowing better orientation in the store environment.” says Evija Grīnberga, sales and production director of “Maxima Latvija”.
This year, the unified store concept has been implemented in 33 “Maxima” stores throughout Latvia, improving 21 “Maxima X” and 12 “Maxima XX” stores in a total of 19 cities: Aizkraukle, Alūksne, Daugavpils, Jēkabpils, Jelgava, Jūrmala, Krāslav, Liepāja, Līvāni, Ludz , Ogre, Pinkis, Preilii, Rēzekne, Riga, Saldus, Tukums, Valkas and Valmiera. Continuing the development of the store network in 2024, it is planned to adapt almost all Maxima stores to the new format by the end of next year.
The unified concept envisages that the sales halls of the stores are wider and brighter, as well as environmentally friendly technical solutions have been implemented in them, for example, the lighting has been changed to LED, new and modernized equipment has been introduced and energy-efficient solutions have been used in the selection of equipment. In addition to that, a more understandable and easier to review arrangement of goods, special offers, as well as other innovations have been introduced that are not visually visible to the customer, but help employees more effectively perform their direct work duties on a daily basis and provide customers with a pleasant shopping experience.
The unified “Maxima” store concept is being implemented in all the Baltic countries and provides that stores of a similar format are improved in such a way that it is more convenient and easier to shop in them, adapting the assortment to the needs of customers and placing the favorite products of the residents on the store shelves. After the transformation of the stores to the new “Maxima” store concept, a diverse range of “Meistara Marka” ready-made meals and the production of the new private food brand “Well Done” with a rich range of fresh food products at an affordable price will continue to be available in the network of stores throughout Latvia.
