Bloodborne is an action RPG released by From Software for PS4 in 2015. While inheriting gameplay elements from the same studio’s Dark Souls series, the game features aggressive gameplay. A nightmarish story filled with cosmic terror unfolds in the European-style capital of Yharnam. Its worldview leaves a strong impact on players, and it remains popular with fans. In addition, projects such as unofficial derivative games of the same work are being developed.

One such project is an attempt to recreate Bloodborne within Minecraft. The person working on it is Mr. Potomy, a creator (builder) who specializes in architecture within “Minecraft”. On December 14th, he reported on his progress on the Bloodborne recreation project on his X account. He indicated that the project is nearing completion or a milestone.

In the same post, he comments that he has been working on the project for about two years, and introduces the city of Yharnam recreated in Minecraft. This project aims to recreate the buildings and maps of Bloodborne in Minecraft. There are also plans to build new locations that exist in Yharnam but could not be reached in the setting of Bloodborne.

For example, the video above shows how the enemies that appear in “Bloodborne” are modeled in voxel and implemented as mobs that can actually be fought in “Minecraft.” It can be seen that motions such as attacks are also reproduced. The project’s goal seems to be to create an experience similar to Bloodborne within Minecraft.

In addition to Potomy, multiple people are involved in the project in areas such as character modeling, sound, animation, and video editing. Within the scope of my observation, I was unable to confirm details regarding the project’s distribution method and release date. However, in the near future, we may be able to visit the city of Yharnam in Minecraft, created by Potomy and others.
