Jayarajan’s response to a question related to the DYFI activists beating up a differently-abled youth who protested against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Jayarajan demanded that Governor Arif Muhammad Khan should be recalled as a disgrace to the state and the people.
“Is this how a governor should behave? If the President of India behaves like this, what will happen to the Prime Minister? The BJP leadership should be ready to do whatever the Governor wants. He behaved in such a way that he had no certainty about the governorship. The governor got out of the car as if he was going to beat everyone. RSS goons are housed inside the university. BJP, which supports the governor, is insulting the people. You can’t go to court to treat the governor.
“Is it the job of a disabled person to go in front of the Chief Minister’s car with a flag? Why was the poor man sent away? Your feelings should be aroused against those sent. Shouldn’t we be thinking about taking a poor person who can’t walk and throwing him in front of the Chief Minister’s car with a black flag? That is the mistake.
“Does anyone check if there are legs or hands in case of oppression? Will the police look into lathicharge? Why was this poor man brought and thrown in front of this? Why are the Congressmen throwing that poor young man who can’t even walk into this atrocity? But then V.D. Satheesan or K. Sudhakaran went and beat him. There was none of them. As soon as they see a stick, they will run. Don’t do this by bringing any women. Congress leadership should understand all this.
It is said that the gunmen made a challenge on Facebook. Is it okay to attack these gunmen? We need to see why this violence is being done. Isn’t the challenge second nature? You must first condemn this violence. Then you ask about the gunmen. Why are you promoting violence by talking about gunmen? Are these KSU and Youth Congressmen walking with black flags to raise any demand before this government? What is their demand?” – asked Jayarajan.
