Madonna speaks out about her life-threatening bacterial infection and miraculous recovery

CELEBRITIESThe American singer Madonna (65) is happy to be alive after she was admitted to intensive care last June with a bacterial infection. During her ‘Celebration Tour’ concert in New York, the pop star spoke out about that terrifying period in her life and thanked a woman for saving her life. “I still remember fainting and waking up in the intensive care unit,” he said on stage.

“I feel blessed. It’s a miracle that I’m here right now,” the ‘Material Girl’ singer told her 19,000 fans in the audience. Her concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday evening was very special for Madonna. There were people in the room who had also visited her in the hospital when she was admitted with a bacterial infection. “There is a very important woman here tonight. She took me to the hospital. I passed out in my bathroom and woke up in the intensive care unit. Thank you Siobhan, you saved my life,” he said gratefully.

It is not the first time that the American singer has spoken out about the terrifying period in her life. She previously said that she woke up in the hospital, surrounded by all her ‘frightened’ children. “I didn’t think I would make it and neither did my doctors. I woke up surrounded by all my children. I lost five days of my life, or of my death, because I don’t know where exactly I was,” she revealed last October in London, during her first show of the ‘Celebration Tour’. “Do you want to know my secret? How did I survive? I thought all the time: ‘I have to be there for my children. I have to keep living for them.’” Due to serious health problems, the Queen of Pop had to postpone her world tour. Her concert series started three months later than planned. Today she has fully recovered.
