Vladimir Putin has ordered his army to capture the town of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region by the end of the year. The Kremlin wants to “start the year with victories at the front”. “The task is not just to take Avdiivka before January 1, but to take him as soon as possible.

As far as I understand, Vladimir Vladimirovich wants to mention this victory in his New Year’s address. If it doesn’t work out, it’s okay, but it’s better if it works out. Such instructions, as far as I know, were transmitted from Moscow,” wrote the Telegram channel “Kremlin Snuffbox”, quoted by the Ukrainian agency UNIAN.

At the same time, not everyone is satisfied with this order from Moscow, because the Russian army is suffering heavy losses in the battles with the defenders of Ukraine – up to 600 people per day, reports BGNES.

“If now from 200 to 600 soldiers a day die and lose arms and legs near Avdiivka, can you imagine what will happen if we intensify the assaults? Here, the mobilized began to fight worse. Someone told them that there would demobilization, that’s how they hope to survive. Some even shoot themselves in the leg so as not to go on an assault. I know two such cases. And now to top it off this haste…”, complained one of the Russian officers.

The occupiers believe that it is possible to capture Avdiivka before the New Year, but they doubt that this task will still be accomplished. Earlier, Putin set the task of capturing Avdiivka before December 1.
